About Us

St. Helier lifeboat station is home to two RNLI lifeboats:

the Tamar Class All Weather Lifeboat George Sullivan

and the Atlantic 85 Inshore Lifeboat David Page

These two lifeboats are looked after and maintained by Jonathan Cornick, the station mechanic, and operated by a crew of volunteers led by Coxswain Andy Hibbs (pictured above). For more information see the Crew and Support page.

The George Sullivan entered service on 16th June 2009 and is moored alongside in close proximity to the lifeboat station. She provides all-weather lifeboat cover around the coast of Jersey.

The David Page entered service in January 2007 and is kept on a hydro hoist mounted on a pontoon in the harbour, which the crew reach by inflatable Y boat. She provides quick response and close inshore cover along the Island's coastline.

The lifeboat crews work closely with other organisations including

Jersey CoastguardFrench and UK Rescue Serviceslocal Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance services.
