Crew assembled 0850 Back on station 1115

The ALB & ILB was called again to continue the search for the missing person. This time the search was on the western side of St Aubins Bay all the way to La Corbiere lighthouse. The search had been scaled up by this time and the St Catherine's Lifeboat and Air Search One were also called and a thorough shoreline search was conducted around the Island. Eventually, with the Coastguard unable to obtain any confirmation that the missing person had entered or even been near the coast, and a thorough coastline search having been carried out the sea search side of things was called off.

TUESDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER Weather Fine Wind 0

Launched 1530 back on station 1600

The ILB was called to a female swimmer suffering from the first stages of hypothermia. The swimmer had got into difficulties off Icho Tower when a passing fishing boat spotted her and pulled her onboard. The fisherman (being a fireman) recognized the signs and symptoms and so promptly called for assistance. The ILB arrived very shortly after the Fire Service Rescue boat and it was decided that, being the quicker of the two rescue vessels, the ILB should take the woman back to St Helier and a waiting ambulance.

The ALB was tasked along with St Catherine's Lifeboat and Channel Islands Air Search to look for an overdue fishing vessel. Throughout the night and into the morning the Lifeboats searched the area with unfortunately nothing found except flotsam. The ALB was tasked to do a slow search back to St Helier at 0930 this morning. The ILB was called to carry on the search at low water. The ILB searched the north coast. A body has been recovered.

THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER Weather FINE Wind F1

While on exercise, the ILB was called by the Coastguard to reports of flashing touches on the causeway of Elizabeth Castle. The ILB was within the main harbour at the time so made best speed to the area and was on scene within 5 minutes. The ILB crew spotted the lights and found two young lads stranded on the castle slipway. The ILB picked them up and returned them to St Helier.
