2009 Services ALB

SATURDAY 3RD OCTOBER:- Weather Cloudy, Wind W F3

Crew assembled 1051 Back on station 1315

The ALB was called to search the north coast after a cliff walker spotted something strange drifting off Greve de Lecq. The ALB arrived on scene 45 mins after launching. The crew searched the area the walker spotted the object but nothing other than a palette board was found. The crew were then stood down after making sure nothing else was in the area.


SUNDAY 4TH OCTOBER:-  Weather Cloudy Wind NE F2

Crew assembled 1515 Back on station 1730

The ALB was called to reports of the missing fisherman having being found (ALB service No 38, ILB service 27). A body has subsequently been recovered. No other details are available.


SUNDAY 11TH OCTOBER:- Weather Rain Wind NW F6

Crew assembled 1653 Back on station 2030

The ALB was called to a French yacht with a snapped mast. The sailing vessel was making 3 knots towards St Helier with a flood tide behind him. The ALB arrived and took the vessel under tow. It is believed that this is the ninth time the skipper has had a mast snap on him..! Pictures of this service click here


SUNDAY 29TH NOVEMBER:- Weather rain Wind S F8-9

Crew assembled 0929 Back on Station 1045

After Jersey Coastguard received a call from Jersey Air Traffic Control saying an outbound aircraft spotted a sailing vessel close to the Paternosters reef apparently motoring in circles, Jersey Coastguard sent the ALB to the North coast as a precaution. Whilst the ALB was en route, the French Coastguard based at Cross Jobourg managed to make contact with the sailing vessel and establish that they were not requiring assistance. The ALB was then stood down.

WEDNESDAY 30TH DECEMBER:- Weather FAIR Wind S4/5

Launched 0950 Back on Station 1300

The ALB was called by Jersey Coastguard to a French motor boat close to the Minquiers Reef with engine failure. The ALB located the vessel and towed to St Helier.

The last call of 2009??? NO! SEE 2009 ILB SERVICES...
